My Name is Dorothee Clasen. I am a young designer from Germany and recently finished my bachelor thesis.
Important: I am recently looking for support to bring my idea to the next level! If you are interested in supporting me (scientific cooperation, access to specific machinery, sponsoring or possible funding) I would be happy if you get in Contact with me.
In my bachelor thesis (supervised by prof. Andreas Muxel and prof. Hatto Grosse), I focused on developing an alternative method to produce paper-based circuit boards that are based on rather sustainable and accessible materials: salt, water and wax.
As my design focus lies in the area of interaction and interface design, as well as material-experiments and exploring progressive manufacturing methods, I was fascinated by the possibility to combine the rather uncombinable elements: water and electronics.
Therefor I focused to learn more about the potential of fluid circuits on paper by exploring various prototypes and enhancing my printing method. This way, and by testing methods to impliment electronics or finding shapes that actively consider the materials abilities to create a unique device, limitations and potential of the used materials and the method itself have been explored.
with this blog I want to share my accomplishments, to share my findings with others for further exploring and developing this unique method of printing Cirquids.
As I will continue working on this topic I am interested in potential partners for supporting my project, joining my research or starting a enriching discussion. Please feel free to Contact me!
